Break-Outs by 1-Opener
Opener should break-out of the
relays only with minimum hand judged to be unsuitable for slam opposite any
positive 9-14 HCP response. Bidding reverts to natural but a GF is still in
tact.

A break-out into 1NT is natural and
LTS applies. However after a break-out
into 2NT all bids are natural (ie no LTS).

Break-oit into Responder's known
Major shows 4-card support and 15-16 HCPs with soft values.

A break-out into a new suit denies
a fit in Responder's shown suit(s) and implies a minimum unbalanced hand.
